This is what happened at Locosystem – the premiere of new system functions.

Premiere of the new Locosystem After a year of hard work by the entire team: scientists, designers, technologists, craftsmen, analysts, and social research specialists! We would like to thank the entire team and the guests with whom we were able to celebrate last week.

▪ As part of the development of Karol Starczewski's Locosystem project, we increased the number of system functions from 4 to 10, which resulted in the design and production of 20 unique pieces of furniture. The project took into account the needs ofuniversal design.

▪ The new features we have added to Locosystem are the result of a detailed diagnosis of furniture users' needs conducted by our team.

▪ Locosystem is a complete modular, polymorphic furniture system that will adapt to your changing needs and the space you wish to furnish.

▪ It enables the construction of individual furniture and the arrangement of unusual living spaces within a single, universal, multifunctional and design-coherent system.

At Nowy Model, in addition to implementing the work of Polish designers into production, we also do individual custom projects!

Our workshop is a place for comprehensive implementation of unique furniture and interior design projects. We handle modeling, prototyping, and production of even the most ambitious and complex projects.

We carry out both mass production and individual orders, using our own or entrusted materials.

Our designers, engineers, and specialized craftsmen offer support at every stage of the design process.

We want to show you the results of the cooperation between Nowy Model and Modus Design | Studio Marek Cecuła, so that the coming year begins with a local accent symbolizing Poznań values and traditions.

When last year the Poznań City Hall launched a debate on visual identification and the values that Poznań can promote, we decided that what is hidden in pyry, koziołki and croissants would resonate perfectly in a modern design form.

We managed to persuade the charismatic and probably most recognizable Polish designer in the world, ceramic artist Marek Cecuła, to design unique porcelain objects referring to the symbolism of Poznań and Greater Poland.

We are convinced that Greater Poland's design, crafts and applied arts are among the region's most valuable assets, worth developing and promoting.

The porcelain salt and pepper shakers designed for Nowymodel by Marek Cecuła, specifically for Poznań and Greater Poland, are a perfect gift and a functional designer item. We hope they will prove a valuable addition to your home.

We are open to all your ideas and interested in collaborating in promoting the most important values of our city and region.

LOCOSYSTEM in the final of the "Innovative for Greater Poland" competition„

Miło nam poinformować, że LOCOSYSTEM projektu Karola Starczewskiego został wyróżniony przez ekspertów podczas Wielkopolskiego Forum Inteligentnych Specjalizacji i

został zakwalifikowany do finału konkursu o Nagrodę Marszałka Województwa Wielkopolskiego „i-Wielkopolska – Innowacyjni dla Wielkopolski” w kategorii „Wnętrza przyszłości”.

Ostatni etap oceny merytorycznej nastąpi 7 grudnia, a ogłoszenie listy laureatów i wyróżnionych oraz wręczenie nagrody Marszałka odbędzie sie 14 grudnia br.

LOCOSYSTEM to modułowy, spójny wzorniczo i uniwersalny system meblarski, pozwala szybko i bez problemu modelować i zmieniać aranżację przestrzenne. Zupełnie niczym za pomocą klocków lego.

LOCOSYSTEM daje nieograniczone możliwości rekonfiguracji bazowych elementów i łączenia je w nowe, funkcjonalne systemy meblowe, dopasowując się do zmieniających się potrzeb użytkowników.

Składa się z podestów i regałów z możliwością dowolnego ustawienia półek w pionie i w poziomie. Dziewięć różnych kształtów półek – proste, łuki, fale, narożniki – daje właściwie nieograniczoną swobodę konfiguracji mebli. Można z nich budować regały, biurka, siedziska, szafki, szuflady i wiele innych elementów wyposażenia wnętrz (każdy moduł może być dodatkowo wyposażony w plecy oraz drzwiczki). Opatentowany przez projektanta system mocowań bezśrubowych umożliwia łatwy montaż regałów, bez użycia narzędzi oraz umieszczenie każdej półki w dowolnym miejscu. Jest stabilny, lekki, prosty w montażu.

LOCOSYSTEM pozwala na zaaranżowanie każdej, nawet nieoczywistej i trudnej przestrzeni – zarówno publicznej jak i mieszkalnej – w prosty, efektowny i funkcjonalny sposób. Z pomocą LOCOSYSTEM można wydzielać ciągi komunikacyjne i przestrzenie funkcjonalne, tworzyć miejsca do pracy, zabawy i relaksu.

Nadaje się znakomicie zarówno do aranżacji przestrzeni prywatnych, jak i publicznych: biur, bibliotek, redakcji, przestrzeni dla kultury.

Rajmund Teofil Hałas – what do we know about the professor?

Visual artist, architect, furniture designer.

He was born in Krobia, Greater Poland, into a family with a long tradition of carpentry, begun by his great-grandfather Jakub Węcławski in the mid-19th century. Jakub's workshop was taken over by his son-in-law, Franciszek Hałas, who taught his son Teofil the trade. He, in turn, built a furniture factory in 1922. The family tradition was continued by Teofil's sons, Zygmunt and Rajmund Teofil, who, after studying at the Carpentry and Sculpture High School in Cieplice-Zdrój, obtained a master carpenter's diploma.

In 1951, Rajmund T. Hałas began his studies at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (PWSSP) in Poznań at the Faculty of Interior Design, graduating with a diploma under the supervision of Professor Jerzy Staniszkis.

After graduating, he became involved in the furniture industry, managing a Furniture Design Studio that served the entire industry. His designs included the VARIABLE HEIGHT SHELF (1959) and the RED – WHITE – BLACK chair series (1957–62).

In 1960, he founded the Koło group with Czesław Kowalski (author of MEBLOŚCIANKI KOWALSKICH), Leonard Kuczma, and Janusz Różański. This group initiated efforts to organize a Furniture Biennale in Poznań. Less than twenty years later (in 1978), the Organizing Committee of the First International Furniture Triennial was established.

In 1964, he was on a scholarship to the Helsinki Institute of Industrial Arts, and a year later, to Great Britain. There, he encountered artists of such stature as Alvar Aalto and Gordon Russell. His travels to the West led to the establishment of the Department of Industrial Design at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1971, where he led the Inspirational Design Studio. He remained associated with the Poznań university until the end of his exceptionally active life. After his retirement as a professor, he served as a consultant at the Department of Design and lectured on the history of architecture and design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design.
On the initiative of Marek Hałas, the Professor's nephew, the Museum of Carpentry and Bishopric was established in the buildings of his grandfather Teofil's former furniture factory in Krobia, under the patronage of Rajmund Teofil Hałas.

The Primer of Polish Design in Poznań – exhibition at the School of Form

At the exhibition The Primer of Polish Design – an exhibition at the School of Form you will find 100 most important Polish design projects of the last century, including the "Variable Height Bookcase" designed by Professor Rajmund T. Hałas, one of the most outstanding Polish designers, founder of the Department of Industrial Design at University of Arts in Poznań. Designed in 1959, it was reconstructed and first put into production by nowymodel.org in 2013.

We cordially invite you to a meeting promoting the monograph "Novum is not sinful" (edited by Jadwiga Filipiak). The publication is devoted to the work and life of Professor Rajmund Teofil Hałas, one of the most outstanding Polish designers, founder of the Department of Industrial Design at the Poznań State Higher School of Fine Arts, whose work and legacy we systematically present to design enthusiasts at nowymodel.org. The meeting is organized by the University of Arts in Poznań.

Shelf with variable heights

The shelf was designed in 1959 and first put into production by nowymodel.org in 2013.

IMUGO stool

A stool from 1960, first put into production by nowymodel.org in 2014.

COFFEE and CIGARETTES coffee table

"I don't remember exactly when this design was conceived. We've had a prototype since the early 1960s. My husband called this little table 'COFFEE AND CIGARETTES...'" recalled Stanisława Hałasowa, showing us this marvel. It was first put into production by nowymodel.org in 2014.

RED, WHITE, BLACK chairs

Designed between 1957 and 1962, their prototypes, made in the 1960s, never entered production, but they survived in a family collection in Krajków. After more than 60 years, they were reconstructed and first put into production by nowymodel.org in 2017.

LOCOSYSTEM modular furniture nominated for the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Award.

We are pleased to announce that modular furniture LOCOSYSTEM designed by Karol Starczewski were nominated in the competition for the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Award "i-Wielkopolska – Innovative for Wielkopolska" in the Interiors of the Future category.

The second stage of substantive evaluation will take place during the Wielkopolska Smart Specialisation Forum on 1 December 2017.

LOCOSYSTEM is a system of platforms and shelving units with the ability to freely position the shelves vertically and horizontally. Nine different shelf shapes – straight, curved, wave-shaped, and corner – provide virtually unlimited freedom in furniture configuration. They can be used to create shelving units, desks, seats, cabinets, drawers, and many other interior furnishings (each module can be additionally equipped with a back and doors). With the help of LOCOSYSTEM you can separate communication routes and functional spaces, create places for work, play and relaxation.

LOCOSYSTEM allows you to quickly and easily model and change spatial arrangements. Just like using Lego blocks.

It's stable, lightweight, and easy to assemble. It's perfect for both private and public spaces: offices, libraries, editorial offices, and cultural spaces.

The designer's patented screwless mounting system allows for easy assembly of the shelves without the use of tools and for each shelf to be placed anywhere.
