This is what happened at Locosystem – the premiere of new system functions.

Premiere of the new Locosystem After a year of hard work by the entire team: scientists, designers, technologists, craftsmen, analysts, and social research specialists! We would like to thank the entire team and the guests with whom we were able to celebrate last week.

▪ As part of the development of Karol Starczewski's Locosystem project, we increased the number of system functions from 4 to 10, which resulted in the design and production of 20 unique pieces of furniture. The project took into account the needs ofuniversal design.

▪ The new features we have added to Locosystem are the result of a detailed diagnosis of furniture users' needs conducted by our team.

▪ Locosystem is a complete modular, polymorphic furniture system that will adapt to your changing needs and the space you wish to furnish.

▪ It enables the construction of individual furniture and the arrangement of unusual living spaces within a single, universal, multifunctional and design-coherent system.

Premiera nowych funkcji Locosystemu

20-21 listopada kierownicy  projektu B+R „Locosystem – polimorficzny system meblarski” realizowanego przez nas dzięki dofinansowaniu ze środków europejskich brali udział w XXXII Międzynarodowej Konferencji Naukowej Wydziału Technologii Drewna SGGW w Warszawie: DREWNO – MATERIAŁ XXI WIEKU.
 
21 listopada 2018 roku prof. dr hab. Katarzna Laskowska (zastępczyni kierownika B+R projektu) i dr inż Maciej Sydor przedstawili na konferencji prezentację pt.  Polymorphic furniture system in furniture users’ expectations.
 
Po prezentacji wywiązała się krótka dyskusja w której głos zabrali: prezentujący Katrzyna Laskowska, współautor Maciej Sydor oraz osoby zadające pytania, m.in. prof. Wojciech Cichy (ITD W Poznaniu), dr Zuzana Vidholdová (Technical University in Zvolen), prof. Ladislav Dzurenda (Technical University in Zvolen).
Pytano o sposób działania i ideę polimorficznych mebli, a także o kwestie wzornicze na co prezentująca i współautor udzielili odpowiedzi.
 
Prezentowane zagadnienia zostały również złożone do publikacji jako Laskowska, K., Sydor, M. (2018). Polymorphic furniture system in furniture users’ expectations. Annals of WULS – SGGW, Forestry and Wood Technology, (104).

Projekt „LOCOSYSTEM POLIMORFICZNY SYSTEM MEBLARSKI” zrealizowany przez Digitouch sp. z o.o. był współfinansowany był z Funduszy Europejskich w ramach Działania 1.1 Programu Operacyjnego Inteligentny Rozwój „Projekty B+R przedsiębiorstw”, Poddziałania 1.1.1 „Badania przemysłowe i prace rozwojowe realizowane przez przedsiębiorstwa” dzięki dofinansowaniu z Narodowego Centrum Badań i Rozwoju.
 
W ramach pracy nad rozwojem LOCOSYSTEMU projektu Karola Starczewskiego zwiększyliśmy liczbę funkcji systemu z 4 do 10, co zaowocowało zaprojektowaniem i wykonaniem 19 unikalnych mebli. W projekcie uwzględniliśmy dezyderaty projektowania uniwersalnego. Nowe funkcje, o które uzupełniliśmy LOCOSYSTEM, są rezultatem przeprowadzonej przez nasz zespół szczegółowej diagnozy potrzeb użytkowników mebli.
 
Dzięki projektowi stworzyliśmy kompletną ofertę zabudowy meblarskiej, umożliwiającą budowę indywidualnych mebli i aranżację nietypowych przestrzeni mieszkalnych w ramach jednego, uniwersalnego, wielofunkcyjnego i spójnego wzorniczo systemu.

LOCOSYSTEM to innowacyjny, rekonfigurowalny, wielofunkcyjny system meblowy zaprojektowany przez Karola Starczewskiego. Meble modułowe LOCOSYSTEM  to spełnienie marzeń wszystkich miłośników funkcjonalnych wnętrz. Szczególnie tych ceniących modułowe rozwiązania, które pozwalają szybko i bez problemu modelować i zmieniać przestrzeń, w której żyją. Zupełnie niczym za pomocą klocków lego. Umożliwia sprawne łączenie funkcji, ściśle dostosowanych do potrzeb użytkownika, dodatkowo aranżując całą przestrzeń mieszkalną, jednolitym typem zabudowy meblarskiej. LOCOSYSTEM znakomicie nadaje się zarówno do przestrzeni publicznych, użytkowych biur czy bibliotek.

System opiera się o opatentowany łącznik szpilkowy – system mocowań bezśrubowych, który umożliwia łatwy montaż poszczególnych elementów, bez użycia narzędzi oraz umieszczenie ich w dowolnym miejscu.

Pierwotnie system tworzyły trójkątne i prostokątne podesty oraz regały możliwością dowolnego ustawienia półek w pionie i w poziomie. Dziewięć różnych kształtów półek – proste, łuki, fale, narożniki – dawało właściwie nieograniczoną swobodę konfiguracji mebli.

Dziś z dumą i radością chcemy przedstawić kolejne elementy systemu, o które poszerzyliśmy rodzinę LOCOSYSTEM o: nowy regał przyścienny i wolnostojący, regulowane biurko do pracy dla dzieci i dorosłych wraz z akcesoriami do porządkowania przestrzeni, wielofunkcyjny stół o zmiennej wysokości i powierzchni blatu, moduł RTV, dwa warianty szaf do przechowywania odzieży oraz 3 warianty komody, dzięki którym można zbudować garderobę dostosowaną do potrzeb użytkownika, rozkładaną sofę będąca zarazem pełnoprawnym, wygodnym łóżkiem oraz wysuwane łóżko dwupoziomowe.

Prostota LOCOSYSTEMU, widoczna nie tylko w formie mebli jak również systemie montażowym, oferuje rozwiązania niedostępne na polskim i światowym rynku w przystępnej cenowo oraz wzorniczo formie.

We have it! The QUANTUM chair designed by Professor Stanisław Figel received a special distinction from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the 25th anniversary edition of the Good Design 2018 Competition.

The competition for the best-designed products and services on the Polish market is organized by the Institute of Industrial Design. The chair is part of the QUANTUM set, which has been manufactured by Nowy Model since 2016.

Simple, repeating geometric forms set at different angles create a dynamic, distinctive point in space.

Beech wood was used to produce the structural elements of the QUANTUM chair, and the upholstered elements are made of high-quality upholstery fabric.

? From October 26, 2018, the GOOD DESIGN 2018 exhibition at the Institute of Industrial Design will be open to visitors.

The chair we have been producing since 2016 is a finalist in the 25th anniversary edition of the Dobry Wzór 2018 competition for the best designed product and service on the Polish market!

❗We are pleased to announce that the chair we have been producing since 2016 is a finalist in the 25th anniversary edition of the Dobry Wzór 2018 competition for the best designed product and service on the Polish market!

The competition is organized by the Institute of Industrial Design.? The chair is part of the QUANTUM set designed by Prof. Stanisław Figel, head of the Design Studio furniture at the Faculty of Interior Architecture and Design at the Furniture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

Beech wood was used to produce the QUANTUM chair, and the upholstered elements are made of high-quality upholstery fabric. ?

The winners of this year's edition will be announced at the Final Gala on October 25th – keep your fingers crossed for Quantum, Prof. Figla, and Nowy Model.

Our designs have already been recognized several times in the Good Design Competition:

2014: ORGANIC waste sorting containers, designed by. Karol Starczewski – competition finalist

2016: Shelf with variable heights, designed by Prof. Rajmund Teofil Hałas – competition winner

From October 26, 2018, the GOOD DESIGN 2018 exhibition at the Institute of Industrial Design will be open to the public. Admission is free.

#We choose Polish Design

# I choose Polish Design is a nationwide campaign organized by GOOD INSIDE and PLN design – Inspiring information about design, interiors and architecture.

▪ Its aim is to promote young Polish brands. Ten furniture and lighting manufacturers who fit the definition of "good Polish design" were invited to the project, including New model. Functionality, unique design, quality materials, and production made in Poland. We want to show that Polish design is in great shape and within reach.

DUNE CHAIR

The work of the Poznań sculptor and designer of the young generation, Cyryl Zakrzewski.
This original and comfortable chair is also an extraordinary sculptural object.
The artist was inspired to create it by sand dunes, gentle curves and the impression of movement caused by the eternally flowing sand.
The DUNE chair is made of birch plywood, hand-carved and finished with natural oil.

ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT BOOKCASE

A product from the "Icons of Polish Design" series. This simple and functional piece of furniture can be assembled in just a few minutes, without the need for any tools. A unique system of connecting shelves using stainless steel clamps allows for flexible vertical and horizontal configurations. The shelf can be used as either a wall-mounted unit or as a freestanding space divider. The practicality, originality, and versatility of the design have been recognized in numerous competitions.

 

NEWMODEL

Nowymodel is primarily comprised of enthusiasts who strive to continue the history of Polish design. Thanks to their work, we can admire so many new projects by young Polish designers. Their goal is also to revive designs that were forgotten but are now classics of Polish design.

They're writing about us! Locosystem at the school in Milcz

The primary school of the future

The Wrocław-based architectural studio PORT has designed a modern, functional, comfortable, and captivatingly beautiful school in a former Christmas bauble factory building in Milicz, near Wrocław.

The KOM Foundation, which oversaw the work, wanted the transformation of the factory into an educational facility to be interdisciplinary and include, among other things, collaboration with children. Future students of the school designed the school's interiors, sharing stories and drawings during meetings and workshops.
