LOCOSYSTEM
polymorphic furniture system
The aim of the project is to develop an innovative multifunctional furniture construction system intended for domestic space and based on: 1) the patented pin rack - LOCOSYSTEM 2) on very strongly stylized structural elements and 3) the know- how allowing the end user to independently build any desired furniture structure. The planned furniture development will be susceptible to multiple transformations depending on the changing needs.
It will also be largely resistant to loss of functionality due to damage and wear. Its implementation will be possible either immediately or gradually in a user-adjustable intensity process. This will extend its lifetime and increase its adaptability to the needs of different users.
A very advantageous feature of the concept described in the application is its technological and environmental friendliness. This results, among others, in reduction of energy and material intensity of production.
The project has taken care of the high design level of the final product, the use of appropriate research methods and the high construction and technological level of the whole solution.
The interdisciplinary design team provides an anthropocentric focus when solving the problem, and is in keeping with the ethos of the "Poznan School of Furniture".
Planned R&D work starts from methodical specification of end users' expectations, proceeds through virtual and physical prototyping and laboratory tests, up to launching production of a demonstration batch. The project plans to create and use an original reconfigurable laboratory to verify the adopted detailed solutions.
The project "LOCOSYSTEM - polymorphic furniture system" is co-financed by European Funds under Measure 1.1 of the Operational Programme Intelligent Development "R&D projects of enterprises", Sub-measure 1.1.1 "Industrial research and development works carried out by enterprises".
