The nowymodel.org Foundation invites you to the opening of the DESIGN FROM OUR BACKYARD exhibition

Who knows design from our own backyard? How to transform it into a Swiss watch? Can you design and sew your own new bag? Who can tame a designer? What does furnishing a public space involve? How can you brighten the light? How many legs can a porcelain table have?
Anyone who wants to find answers to these questions should definitely visit us at the fair. arena DESIGN. A great celebration of design awaits! We've prepared many surprises for you!
We invite you to the exhibition "Design from Our Backyard"/"Next Door Design," which will showcase designs and objects by masters of Polish design and their most talented students. You'll see works by Tomasz Augustyniak, Justyna Bagińska-Stosik, Michał Bartkowiak, Jakub Buszyński, Marek Cecuła, Paweł Grajkowski, Rajmund Teofil Hałas, Michał Kowalski, Katarzyna Laskowska, Ryszard Mańczak, Tomasz Andrzej Rudkiewicz, Karol Starczewski, Anna Trafas-Kowalczyk, Maja Uzarowicz, and Jan Węcławski. This evening the band Zigzag Paradise will play live for us.
Registration is now open for Michał Kowalski's design workshops, "Your NowyModel: Design Your Own Bag," and for the technologists' workshop, "Taming the Designer: How a Concept Is Created," led by Paweł Grajkowski and Mikołaj Wojtkowiak. Those interested can register by emailing eop@nowymodel.org.
Without registration, you can participate in the full-day creative workshop "Design Washing," inspired by plein-air workshops led by one of our masters – Professor Rajmund Teofil Hałas. We will explore the new presence of porcelain, new forms of light, furnishing public spaces, and how to transform Polish design into a Swiss watch. Is this even possible? We will discuss the opportunities and obstacles facing Polish designers in a select group during the panel "Where is the Material for Polish Design?".
Every day, every visitor to our stand will have the opportunity to talk with designers and technologists on all topics related primarily to the use of various materials. People with extensive experience and passion await you.
We also have a surprise – a "Handmade" happening prepared by actors associated with the Laboratory company and the Strefa Ciszy Theatre, who have completed many theatre workshops and will now transform the workshop into a theatre. How will it end? You'll have to see for yourself :)
Most of the events we have prepared will take place at stand no. 1 in pavilion five, but we will also meet you at Forum Arena DESIGN. We invite designers, technologists, students, and anyone simply interested in Polish design who wants to live in a functional, friendly, and beautiful world. See you there!

Where can you find design in the city of design? Natalia Mazur wonders in the opening text of the February issue of IKS. To our delight, she finds it on nowymodel.org.
She was particularly impressed by our height-adjustable shelf, designed by Professor Rajmudn Teofil Hałas. We're not surprised. This piece of furniture, invented in 1959, was ahead of its time and remains contemporary, functional, simple, and... (let's not be afraid of that word!) beautiful!
